Setting up a Quinncia Resume Assignment
Here is a step-by-step guide for setting up a Quinncia resume assignment. If you have any questions or need help please contact your University Relationship Manager
Phase 1: Platform Setup
1. Access Your Instructor/Admin Portal (Optional)
- With Instructor Access: Contact your university's Career Center to request a Quinncia instructor/admin account. This allows you to set up course cohorts and view student scores, flag resolutions, and submission reports directly on your dashboard.
- Without Instructor Access: You can still run the assignment! Students can simply export their Quinncia Analysis PDF to submit directly to your Learning Management System (LMS).
2. Establish Grading Scale
Quinncia evaluates resumes across three core areas: General, Formatting, and Content. Rather than assigning numerical score targets, Quinncia highlights specific "Flags" (e.g., text columns that trip up ATS scanners, weak action verbs, or missing quantifiable metrics).
- 0 - 2 flags: A
- 3 - 5 flags: B
- 6 - 9 flags: C
- 10+ flags: D or lower
Best Practice: Base full credit on Flag Resolution. Aiming for a badge color isn't always practical, as score caps often depend on a student's total years of experience.
Optional: You can also set up minimum students score benchmarks they must reach by grade level in tandem with their number of flags.
- 1st year: 120
- 2nd year: 140
- 3rd year: 160
- 4th year: 180+

Phase 2: Assignment Submission
1. Quinncia Revision Workflow For Students
- Upload & Analyze: Students upload their document to Quinncia to generate feedback.
- Edits: Students review their feedback(flags/improvements) and either make changes within the Quinncia analysis page or on their original document
- Re-Upload: Students upload their revised file back into Quinncia. Most institutional licenses allow unlimited re-uploads.
2. Define Student Deliverables
Decide what you want students to be graded on.
- Limited submissions: Only allowing the student to do 2 submissions of their resume, one to review the feedback then their score after making changes.
- Highest score: Using the unlimited uploads for resumes in Quinncia, students can analyze as many times as they need and submit their highest score.
- Latest score: Using the unlimited uploads for resumes in Quinncia, students can analyze as many times as they need and submit their last score.
3. Collect Scores and Grade
- LMS Integration: Quinncia’s automatic grade loader can be used in Canvas and D2L. If this is set up by your institution, you can access it through your LMS and it will translate scores to grades based on the grading scale you’ve selected.
- Student Upload into LMS: Students can download a PDF copy of their analysis for every resume they upload on Quinncia. Have them download that PDF and submit it directly into your LMS for the assignment. The PDF includes their name, score, flags, improvements, and a copy of their resume.
- Quinncia Instructor Access: If you’ve contacted your university's Career Center to request a Quinncia instructor/admin account, you can log in there and navigate to your student list to view students scores and make additional comments directly on their analysis.
